H1N1?! Don't Panic ;)

"In case you dunno, this week is my college holiday, so i'm free~~~
So, since i'm so free, i've chosen this random topic to talk about."

This was written on 31/8/2009... and saved on that day
So am i REALLY free?? Doubt~

Oh by the way, blogger is KIND enough to post this as at that date XD

Influenza A (H1N1)??
Should you AHHHH when you hear this?
Basically, i suggest, NO.
Why?
Because AHHHH'ing causes noise pollution XD XD XD

So, let's start with: What is Influenze A (H1N1)?
Click Wiki for info XD

What are the symptoms of H1N1?
1. You: 'Nasi lemak tak mau sambal...'
Mamak fella: (==)
You: 'Nanti nanti, tak mau ikan bilis, kacang dan telur goreng...'
Mamak fella: 'Apa lagi??' (=.= =.=)
You: 'Maggi goreng tak mau goreng...'
Mamak fella: 'Masak sendiri la!!!' (>.<) In case you don't get my lame situation, it's sore throat~
2. You're hot and you're cold~~~ (fever)
3. H-H-Haaaar Cheeeeeewwwww:
1st time - dust
2nd time - haze larrrrr
3rd time - someone misses you =="
4th time - you miss someone too ==""
5th time - I think you are having a running nose... better be careful~
4. Coughing
5. Diarrhea and vomitting
6. Muscle ache
And i think there's much more common symptoms for common diseases...

How to prevent H1N1?

When you someone sneezing or coughing, kindly tell them to follow the precautionary steps as follows:
Carry tissues with you all the time... Cover your mouth and nose when you sneeze or cough
(You can carry the cute snoopy box if you want, you'll look COOOOOL XD)
Wash your hands and sanitize them after that
Be batman, superman, spiderman or whatever-man if necessary (=
Most importantly...

Eat supplements like VitaminC and garlic oil and FRUITS =)

So, i've been thinking...
If I need to be home-quarantined, due to I myself (touching wood) got H1N1 or suspected to have H1N1 or be in contact with H1N1 patient, what i can do...

SMS, phone call, video call, play games, taking a lot of pictures, or even record your neighbour singing and replay them over and over again... All in HANDPHONES!!
Laptop provides all the entertainment!!
Listen to your favourite songs~
Play pc games till you vomit~
BORED with techs?? Nevermind... Let's go for more traditional activities...

Guitar??
Flip through photo albums and have a good laugh at the young you??
Read THICK books...
Not enough of thick books?
Read TEXT BOOKS then...Enough of reading??
How about writing??
Past year papers will do =)
Nevermind la... Manicure and pedicure can use up sometime too

Last but not the least....
FACEBOOK =D

You're always not alone =)

Busy Weeks of August 09

So, i've been wondering why I was so busy to the extend that I didn't blog and almost all my plants in Barn Buddy were stolen...again ==

The week when i returned from orientation camp, very ill, so skipped blogging.

The week after that, forgot what I did. Should be busy practicing choir and very tired after that. Oh ya. I'm addicted to computer games. And, i did place mats + did revision (not more than 1 hour for that whole week) for the monthly tests.

This week, me and my friends were busy completing the place mats for the Graduation Night, busy practicing for choir again, busy socializing + networking...

OK. Random updates...

1st, my dear Alex Fong has a new album, named as Seven Years =D

Orientation Camp

Orientation Camp!!

Well, although the name sound so wrong as our batch basically has done 1st sem and 1 month of 2nd sem, but i guess most of us had much fun =)

So, the 1st day, of all day and time, it rained when we arrived at SUFES Campsite, Tapah and we pitched the tents while it's still drizzling. This is my tent ^^ with Praise and Vicki from 0907 and Sarah from my batch.

While i was walking around with my friend, i saw boys like having boys' talk inside the tent which i find it funny.

Campsite

The very 1st night, after listening to No Apologies for the 2nd time (i found it very boring when i heard it for the 1st time), we went for night jungle trekking.
Well, i love it!
It rained in the afternoon and the ground was muddy and slippery. The jungle trekking started at 11pm. We were stucked in the jungle due to human jam. The whole journey should take around 2 hours but i reached campsite at around 2.30am. And the latest group reached there at 4am. I slid down the muddy ground at the last bit of the journey which was great! =D
I slept at 4am due to:
(i) no water supply when i wanna bath while the guys in girls' toilet used the last bit of the water
(ii) waited for Joyce to bath as she came back at around 3.30am.

The best thing was, we need to wake up at 7am and there's another 3.30 hours of No Apologies. I totally couldn't pay attention in there and nearly fell asleep for quite a number of time.

OK. So forget about the boring talk. We went to stream trotting in that afternoon.
It was fun! I love this too as i find out that i love adventurous activities.
We trot the stream (abuthen?) and reached i-consider-it-as-a-mini-size waterfall.

Oh ya, this is what my friend who influenced me a lot said:
"Come come, insects come and find me!"
"I got a leech bite! So cool!"
"Aiyo Sarah, i want the scratches on your legs! Transfer to me!"
By Crazy girl, Michelle.

1 thing i discovered in this camp is girls are fussy but guys can be as fussy as girls sometimes.
And yeah, maybe i am just too fast when i'm taking bath and find it annoying when i waited for 1/2 hour just to use the bathroom for 5minutes. Some girls should be more considerate. You're in a campsite, not your house. It's a public bathroom and everyone's waiting for you outside. It's super uncomfortable with wet clothes and sticky body. While you're having your own sweet time bathing inside like you're using jacuzzi, a lot of us were still waiting outside impatiently.

Sam bat time in my tent =)

Last day of the camp (0903)

Can you see me =P

Just random =P he was stucked outside the class because of coming back late from break

I LOVE CAMPS~!

The G??

1st of all, thanks for leaving comments although i didn't use them at last.

How's my look that day?
I don't have the photos yet, and i took very few photos, by the way.
Anyway, i didn't enjoy the night.
I enjoyed doing girl's stuff in my friend's house in the afternoon that day =)

So, what did our dear G do?

Maths & Science in English, Malay or Mother Tongue??
Few years back, well, while i was in standard 4 or 5, when the G announced that maths and science would be taught in english, i was happy enough to be one of them.
Why? Simply because i know the fact that the maths and science terms are all translated from english to malay. So, why study the translated one where you know the original language of the terms and they are more accurate in their original language.

Fair enough, primary schools could continue to use their mother tongue to teach them, but they still need to study them in English, which means to add on the poor primary kids burden. However, think about those who are weak in English, for example the people in rural areas and deep inside the jungles somewhere in Malaysia, i bet they said "OH MY GOD!" or they don't even know this phrase. So, how the hack can they do? Protest. Say NO. And, it failed for all these years... until recently, the G actually finally agrees with the people that say NO.

My words? I definitely think that this is stupid. Why? This is simply because i've been through this and i definitely think that it works, not in the improving language sense, but more effective way of passing on the knowledge. You would argue that "that's because your BM is bad, doesn't mean that the others' English is good." Well, i can write, speak and understand BM which is good enough. However, if you want me to say "oksida" instead of "oxide", or "asimilasi" instead of "assimilation"... er, can i say NO this time?

OK, back to the main objective of taking this step, to improve English (is this the objective?). Well, i agree with what the people suggested in the papers, like increase English lessons. I definitely agree that primary education, which is the basic is really important. I remember i had 3 periods, which is less than 3hours per week of English lesson. Do you think that's enough? Hence, i think that this can solve the problem that rural areas students cannot speak and understand English. If they don't learn since young, how are they going to study in the future? Don't tell me all of them are going to take Degree in BM, Malay Lit and whatever related to BM. Are they that semangat towards BM? I doubt.

So, what i think is the G should actually ask not only the opinions of the professions (so called), but also the students that are taught in English themselves. Their comments and opinions are definitely much more accurate. Now? Too late. It will take them another decade to change this policy again. Poor students.

Oh ya, not to mention, the money that the G spend to subsidise our dear teachers that are teaching the students Maths and Science in English, i personally think that they're unnecessary. I don't see the point of doing it. Whether the G is subsidising them or not, it's their responsibility to teach in English, to improve their English ages ago in University and their need to improve their English. Sorry if i offense them but it's the truth. (I don't see some of them teaching in English nor make the students understand with their so called English, too.)

OK, perhaps i may be not so right with my opinions. THIS IS A FREE COUNTRY. I'm just saying for the sake of doing so.

Road Blocks
I know, protest, NO ISA. Then? Did road blocks stop the protest? Did road blocks reduce the number of people attending the protest (well, perhaps yeah...)?

So, last Friday morning, we're stuck for half an hour while trying to drive through not-more-than-5-minutes-drive distance. We saw P standing there nicely dressed up, holding a gun somemore, but doing some stupid action like 'jalan' sign.
Hello, it's a Friday MORNING. Everyone needs to go to work and school. Then why do you think that the protest was on a Saturday? They wanna work, too. So do you think having roadblocks on the nice fine Friday morning help? This makes people moan and complain about the P and G. "They aren't that efficient when there's a robbery happening around." "Eat finish nothing to do"(direct translate from Cantonese) "Nerves not working well"(tried to translate from Cantonese) and so on...

Saturday, i couldn't go to college by car just because of roadblocks. I ended up taking STAR (which i didn't wait for long to go in) and Monorail (which i waited for around 10minutes). I was just on time when i entered the class. So, normal people like me, started to complain about the roadblocks again. Nice enough, after i finished my class, i saw the river next to my college, Klang River, running smoothly as usual. Next to the river... Huh?? "What happened to that road?" That's the Federal Highway, and the way to KL city centre is TOTALLY CLEAR. Not even a single car or motorcycle was there. Can you imagine a highway with no vehicles on it on a weekend morning?

At night, i watched the news. Nice enough again, i saw people protesting, P controlling the situation and so on. So, it's not working after all. Hello, there's something call LRT. The G themselves develop it kind of good enough for people to use it. Waste the tax payers' money, the car owners' petrol, time, losses for businesses that were affected that day. Is that all the G can do to stop the protest? Oh ya, the best part, "If they wanna protest, they can do it in places such as stadium. Jeritlah sepuas-puas hati yang mereka nak."

This is, the G.
